The award winning, globally acclaimed, free of cost, awareness program, titled ‘I am the king of my mind’ is the brainchild of renowned actor/activist/teacher of method acting, Bobby Chakraborty, from Kolkata-India, as he grew up in a family and childhood, where he saw death and destruction due to addiction, in close quarters.
Recently he has joined hands with The Presidency Group of Schools, the leading chain of schools in India, situated all over Bangalore, for a series of anti addiction campaigns in their schools. After 5 sessions, in 5 schools all around Bangalore, which received a strong and positive feedback from everyone, it was the turn of St. Paul’s English School – J. P. Nagar, to be swept away by Bobby’s 428th mindboggling awareness session on July 4th.

Let us hear from Bobby, the changemaker of the society himself, about his stay in Bangalore, his sessions, especially the 428th and everyone at Presidency Group of Schools. Here’s what he had to say:-
“My stay at Bangalore has been hectic, with back to back sessions on each day, but extremely satisfying. The efficient team of The Presidency Group of Schools(PGS) , with the socially responsible Director of Academics, Dr. Angelo Michael D’Cruize took great care of me and made me feel at home. The Director of The Presidency Group of Institutions(PGI), at the helm of affairs, Dr. Nafeesa Ahmed, guided everyone towards making each and every session, fruitful for her students. I was bowled over by the warmth and humility of both Dr. Ahmed and Dr. D’Cruize. Next I would like to mention Mr. Aatheef Ahmed, who was assigned as my Man Friday 24×7…and I am extremely impressed with the young man’s manners, intellect, sense of responsibility and punctuality.
Coming to my anti addiction campaign no. 428,the last of this series in Bangalore,at St. Paul’s English School, one of the oldest schools under the PGS(45years)…the 1st thing that made me very happy was Dr. Nafeesa Ahmed’s presence during the session, which added a separate value to the proceedings. I wanted to end this series of my AACs in Bangalore with an explosion , but I got more than I had bargained for. The adda as I call it, got a terrific interaction from my enthusiastic soldiers pertaining to the pertinent topics of harmful social trends like smoking, vaping, alcoholism, smart phone addiction, abusive language, online gaming/gambling, obscenity online to grab eyeballs and much more. I could explain to them the utility of the formula HCF(Health-Career-Family) as a priority. I weaponised them with the mantra ‘I am the king of my mind’, to fight against all the evils in the society.

The official photographer of this memorable session was soldier Aaradhya Mathur-Grade 12,assisted by soldier Samarth, who was also given the title of ‘The 1st Soldier’. Soldier Krisha got the all important title of ‘The Trendsetter’. The surprise contest at the end had soldiers Aadi, Krisha and Arnav as the winners, who, along with Aaradhya, received special prizes, customised HCF t-shirts and community service certificates from me.

I am overwhelmed by the hugely positive feedback I have received from the students, teachers and parents,in all these 6 sessions at Bangalore.Awareness for the young minds…that’s all I want. I am sure that’s what everyone at PGI and PGS wants too… nothing more…nothing less.”
